In Short, I now offer albums. Yay! And they are the best handmade albums in the Uk.

More about them in a moment, but first a history lesson.

If you have been paying attention you will know that I photographed my first wedding waaaay back in '93. Back then everyone had an album, there really was no other way to view your wedding photos. They were also incredibly boring to look at and usually came in some kind of awful ivory plastic, with just one photo per page. I spent countless hours sticking photos to the page, then sticking a mount over the photo. Then peeling it off and sticking it down again, straighter. 

Sometimes I even brought blank pages and hand cut a number of apertures in them so I could add more than one photo to a page, This was before album companies offered a range of different mounts and shapes. 

Ahhh, the good ol' days. 

Fast fwd a few years, and a break from shooting weddings between 2002 and 2009 (I worked in a portrait studio) and things had changed a lot in the wedding industry.

Digital happened and now everyone wanted their photos on disc/DVD/USB etc. 

In some ways this is great, you get many more photos than you would have 15 years ago. Back then I may have only taken 100 photos all day on my film cameras, now I hand over 300+ fully edited awesome images to my couples. B

But what happens next? You might watch them on the laptop once or twice, get a couple printed for the office desk, then the DVD/USB sits in a draw. I say this from experience of how I have (miss)treated my own wedding photos taken in October 2012.

I noticed the trend changing last year, with more and more couples asking if I offered albums.
