Fuck! 2021 was a weird one wasn't it?
I'm sitting in my office writing this on a cold January day wondering where the last 2 years have actually gone.
After not doing a lot since March 2020 (I had a few commercial jobs to keep me ticking over, but no large events or weddings) things hit the ground at full speed in June 2021 and didn't slow down again until Christmas.
It was brilliant to see couples, who had been planning their weddings for 2 or 3 years, finally be able to get married and have the wedding they wanted after numerous postponements.
It was amazing to see families reunited and hugging and sharing laughs, and it was especially good to see live music again. The dancefloors this year were some of the best I have seen!
I've lived in Cheshire for 3 & 1/2 years now, and it was also great to get out to some new venues I've not worked at before, including Cranage Hall, Crewe Hall, The Plough at Eaton, all great places for a Cheshire wedding and very local to me in Holmes Chapel.
Below are a just a few of my personal favourite shots from this year’s wedding photography.
I've left out the detail shots that I always take at weddings and tried to focus on, what I think are the most important things that make a wedding, the people.
Brides, Grooms, friends and family all chipping in and showing up, sharing real emotions, tears and laughter, this is what makes weddings days so much fun to photograph.
Thanks for looking.
